SDF Annual Membership

Why should I join?
Join San Diego Freedivers to be part of a community built around spearfishing, friendship, seafood, and a healthy ocean. Founded in 1994, SDF is an open and inclusive club for divers of all skill levels who want to connect with local dive buddies, learn from one another, and support spearfishing as a sustainable and responsible sport.

As a member, you help support marine stewardship and represent the sport through the club’s Code of Ethics: respect the ocean, follow the law, dive safely, and make good use of what you harvest. Membership also gives you access to a strong social network, private member groups, monthly meetings, club competitions, awards, banquets, generous raffles, discounts at participating local dive shops, and events such as BBQs, dive trips, lobster events, clinics, classes, and discounts at sign-up events like the annual Blue Water Meet.

The purpose of the San Diego Freedivers is to support a fellowship with other freedivers, preserve the history of freediving and spearfishing, stewardship of marine resources and to encourage competitions and sportsmanship.

By purchasing this membership, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to abide by the San Diego Freedivers Bylaws, including the Code of Ethics, the club’s Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk.
