Article Ten – Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk

Freediving, spearfishing, diving, ocean activities, and related club activities are inherently dangerous and may involve serious risks, including but not limited to drowning, shallow water blackout, marine life encounters, boating hazards, equipment failure, permanent injury, or death.

By participating in any San Diego Freedivers activity, event, meeting, discussion, online forum, training, dive, competition, or other club-related activity, each member and guest acknowledges and voluntarily assumes all risks associated with such participation.

Any information shared by San Diego Freedivers, its members, officers, guests, website, social media, emails, meetings, or other communications is provided for general informational, educational, and entertainment purposes only. Although some content may appear instructional, it should not be relied upon as professional training, safety instruction, medical advice, legal advice, or a substitute for certification from a qualified instructor or agency.

San Diego Freedivers makes no warranties or guarantees, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or safety of any information provided. Each participant is responsible for using their own judgment, obtaining proper training, following applicable laws and regulations, diving within their limits, and making safe decisions.

San Diego Freedivers, its officers, board members, volunteers, members, and representatives shall not be responsible or liable for any injury, loss, damage, or death arising from participation in club activities or reliance on information provided by the club or its members.

All members and guests may be required to sign a separate release of liability and waiver before participating in any club activity.
